• Sitooterie

    2009 Winner: Sitooterie

The design was born from the notion of creating a place to relax and read. A 'sitooterie'. Whilst embracing whichever landscape it should be plae in. The panels, symbolising the leaves of a book, frame the landscape or alternatively retreat and alternate with it. The cut out shape forms the seat along with the Shelf opposite for the people to leave books upon. Ready for the next person.

  • Playcomb

    Runner Up: PlayComb

PlayComb uses, in addition to the Mykon panels, an extruded Aluminium frame that the panels slot and bolt into. This light flat pack system makes it very easy for a community or family to buy and set up. All lighting units are prebuilt into the panels and only the battery is left to connect.

  • Bench

    Runner Up: Bench

Public or lobby seating that utilises Mykon's B Clear Iris to create a spectacular show of colour inviting people to experience Mykon materials up close and personal.

The minimal pressed steel legs and arm allow the chair to flex giving the B Clear a sense of comfort. They have been impressed to create more structural strength where needed as seen on the rear legs. The cool reflective finish of its surface contrasts and compliments the colours created by the effect of Iris.
